5 Rules For Building Links

by Admin on October 18, 2008

Here are 5 rules for one way linking to help steer you in the right direction:

  1. Be proactive when it comes to earning high quality links from other web sites. Take the time to develop a relationship with other webmasters too.
  2. Have an open mind. While most webmasters are still worried about getting high page rank, this can mean missing out on other link building opportunities. This is especially important since page rank does not happen over night. So, take the time to see out relationships with those webmasters who are willing to build them, which are usually those who have low page rank, high quality web sites.
  3. Remember that age is a huge factor. So, take the time to look at just how long any web site that you are considering linking to has been around.  Those web sites that have weathered Search Engine updates, bad economies and bad press make better link partners.
  4. Do not worry about what activities you cannot control such as whether re-designing your web site, linking to other web sites or changing your web host will ruin your Search Engine rankings. Instead, do what is best for you and your customers instead of letting SEO dictate all of your actions.
  5. Make sure that you can be trusted. This means having a solid client list, establishing relationships with other webmasters and providing great customer service. These are activities that will increase the level of trust that others have in you.
