Most of the time the directory submission guidelines for article directories are ignored, especially when software is being used to make the submissions. This is not a good idea to do though. Instead, you should read each directory’s guidelines and make sure that your article conforms to them. Otherwise your article could be rejected and your future submissions effected. Here are some typical article directory submission guidelines:
- Unless otherwise specified, make your submissions in English. Of course, there are some directories specifically designed for other languages that you can write for. However, you may find that these non-English article directories limit their topics or are published in only a limited number of countries.
- It is not a good idea to submit the same article to a variety of different categories. This will be considered spam and your article will not be published. Furthermore, all of the articles that you have already submitted may also be banned.
- While some article directories will allow you to include URLs in the body of your article, there are other article directories that will only allow you to include URLs in your bio box (oftentimes this is called the author’s resource box). You will also find that some article directories will allow you to list several URLs while others will only allow you to list one. It is also possible that an article directory will not allow you to list any URLs. In this case you should not use this article directory because it will not allow you to advertise your web site.
