- Themed linking is where sites who have similar subjects link to one another.
- Page Rank (PR) is Google’s view of your site on a scale of 0 to 10 and should be considered whenever doing a link exchange.
- One way linking is the formation of one way links through various methods.
- 3 way linking is the formation of and understanding between 2 webmasters wherein 1 webmaster owns 2 sites and links to your site from 1 place while you link to the web site that you were not linked to from.
- A link farm is where your link is placed on a page with many other sites and it should be avoided.
- Anchor text is the HTML that is used in the link to your site.
- Site wide linking occurs whenever a webmaster agrees to place a link to your site on every page of their site.
- Deep linking is the linking to internal pages of a web site.
- Content linking is using articles on specific subjects to link to your site from the resource box at the end of the article.
- Paid text links is when you purchase links on other sites to improve your search engine ranking. This is something that Google disapproves of.
- Link exchange directory is a directory of web sites that exchange links.
- Social linking are from places like MySpace or Digg.com.
