Negotiating For The Best Prices For Media Buying

by Admin on October 10, 2008

You will go for Media buying with the aim of promoting your business but at the same time you will also be concerned about the money you are going to invest for the purpose. Naturally you will like to negotiate for the best price to buy media.

In your pursuit of buying media you will get offers from various channels and media centers. If there are four major TV centers in your area, it would be better to have offers from each of them. The principle thus applied for TV advertising shall also apply for other media use like the newspaper, magazine, and radio advertising. Do not forget to clearly lay down your terms, conditions and parameters for accepting their offers. It would be better not to disclose your entire budget at one go initially.  If your budget is for $40,000, ask for offers covering 4-5 weeks for $20,000.

You should not hesitate to negotiate repeatedly and ask the stations to submit revised proposals from time to time. There is no reason to feel shy about this. Effective business negotiation is always a tough affair. Also gathering a bit of information on the past records of the Television station advertising or any such media you are going to buy.

Instead of giving all the time to one Station, you can also divide it among all giving priority to the one that best suits you. This will be real good media planning to get the best while paying the least.
