One way-Linking vs Inter-Linking

by Admin on October 18, 2008

Although there is a great division over the battle of which kind of linking to be used; researchers due agree on one thing that paid linking is surely dead. The one way linking seems the natural way of growth in a web site. During the last couple of years, the search engines have gone through many changes when it comes to deciding the ratings of different websites and the algorithms used in the ratings. In 1999, when the Google search engine was originally launched the algorithms used organized and rated the web sites on the bases of paid links present over the web pages. This practice was broadly dishonored in the up gradation of the algorithms in 2006. Internet marketing was thus completely revolutionized in the process.

Web design developers thus had to come up with new and innovative ideas to increase their ratings. eCommerce professionals were not spared either during this transaction. New technology meant bringing in multiple types of payment methods, employing internet banking and making it easy for the customers to process their payments. People at the Google stood firm on their decision and said that new algorithm did not differentiate between the inter-linking and one way linking in deciding the rakings of a certain page. Still there are those that argue that inter-linking was leading to their devaluation of their websites. If one ponders at this situation indeed that inter-linking of the websites does make business sense, as you want all your business websites to be linked. Google still maintains that a precious link is a precious link and it does not matter if it is an interlink or a one way link
